Anna Popova

Anna Popova is a well-known Bulgarian lawyer with extensive experience in criminal law and human rights.  She graduated in Law from New Bulgarian University and earned a master’s degree in European Union law and international relations from Sofia University.  Anna also received a master’s degree in American national and transnational law from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Anna has been practicing as a lawyer since 2008 when she was licensed by the Sofia Bar Association.  She is also certified as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Bulgarian Law by The Florida Bar, and she is a member of the European Criminal Bar Association as well.

Her career includes significant work in both national and international legal settings, particularly in the defense of human rights and the fight against domestic violence.

She is a delegate to the United Nations Mission in Geneva through the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (OSMTH) and leads an international project advocating for women’s rights.  Her work has won significant recognition, including the “Justice Beyond Borders” award at the National Justice Awards of Bulgaria “Themis – the Price of Truth” in 2023.

In addition, Anna has participated in internationally recognized cases and provided pro bono legal services to people in need.
